In the long-term use of the water purifier, in order to ensure the quality of water purification, we need to clean the water purifier regularly, especially the filter element of the water purifier, except for cleaning and regular replacement, which involves our theme today. How often does the water purifier filter change?
Before answering this question, we need to know first: What is the water purifier filter?
1, PP cotton filter, filtration accuracy of 1 ~ 5μm.
Function: The melt-blown filter core is made of polypropylene microfiber hot-melt entanglement. The fiber randomly forms a three-dimensional microporous structure in space. The pore size is distributed along the flow direction of the filtrate, and the surface, deep layer and fine filtration are integrated. It intercepts large particle impurities such as suspended solids, sediment, rust, etc.
Pp cotton filter
Applicable occasions: primary filtration of groundwater/surface water, pre-filtering of water purifier, generally used for the first-stage filter element of water purification equipment.
PP cotton filter replacement cycle: 3 to 6 months
2. Activated carbon filter.
Function: There are two kinds of granular activated carbon and sintered activated carbon. They are made of high quality coal, wood chips, shells, coconut shells and other materials. They are made through advanced process equipment, high temperature, compression and sintering. Generally, the larger the surface area of the carbon particles, the stronger the adsorption, the higher the filtration precision, and the better the filtration effect.
Activated carbon
Uses: Mainly used to adsorb residual chlorine, color, odor, etc. in the water. Generally, the pre-granular activated carbon, pre-sintered activated carbon and post-loaded silver activated carbon are installed in the water purifier, and the post-loading silver activated carbon can also play Antibacterial effect, to ensure the fresh water!
Activated carbon filter replacement cycle: 6 to 12 months
3, KDF (copper, zinc alloy) filter, mostly used in central water purifiers.
Function: Electrochemical redox (electron transfer) to remove chlorine, heavy metals and inhibit bacterial growth.
Applicable occasions: mixed with activated carbon for the filter element to increase the service life of activated carbon.
KDF filter replacement cycle: about 12 months.
4. Microfiltration (MF) - ceramic filter
Function: The ceramic filter element is sintered by natural diatomaceous earth. There are numerous gaps in the inside, the porosity is as high as 80-90%, and the filter element pore size is less than 0.2μm. Filter out suspended solids, microorganisms, bacteria, rust, etc. in water.
Ceramic filter cartridges have a long life, if the maintenance is in place - often scrubbed with a brush and sanded. The general replacement cycle is from six months to one year.
