Q: What does "40μm" mean for a sintered mesh filter?
A: It's the absolute filtration rating. Particles larger than 40 microns are retained with at least 99% efficiency (βₓ ≥ 200). The pore size is controlled by the mesh weave and sintering parameters – not a nominal or average rating.

 

Q: How is a sintered mesh filter different from a wire cloth or woven mesh filter?
A: Standard woven mesh (single layer) has straight‑through holes that can pass slightly undersized particles. Sintered mesh has multiple layers diffusion‑bonded together, creating a tortuous path. It captures particles more efficiently for a given micron rating and is much more rigid.

 

Q: Can I clean and reuse this sintered filter element?
