How to distinguish between positive and negative：

Observe the direction of the arrow: The air filter element usually has an arrow indicating the direction of the airflow, which is the installation direction. The side with the arrow facing upwards is the front and needs to be installed facing the direction of the airflow.

Observing surface features: The rough or ordinary surface is usually facing upwards, facing the direction of the airflow; The side with a supporting line structure is the opposite side, facing away from the direction of the airflow.

If the filter element contains activated carbon, the black activated carbon facing the direction of the airflow is the front side, and the other side is the back side.

Judging by hand feel: Generally speaking, the front (windward or upper) is relatively rough, while the back is relatively smooth.

Judging by usage: If the old filter element is removed, the installation direction of the new filter element can be determined based on which side is dirty. The dirty side should be the intake side of the filter element, which is the installation direction of the new filter element.
